Show Alpine News Mrs. Leonard Bates, Reporter Miss lone Marsh entertained the girls of the Junior class of the M. I. A. and their mothers at a Christmas party Tuesday evening of last week. The party took place at the home of Miss Marsh where the rooms were tastefully decorated in Christmas colors with a beautiful Christmas tree. Games etc were enjoyed and a delicious lunch was served. The Bee Hive girls enjoyed a jolly Christmas party in the Relief Society rooms Friday evening. Games, led by their teachers, were enjoyed and dainty lunch was served. Presents were exchanged. The many friends of Mrs. Conrad Peterson will be pleased to learn that her condition is somewhat improved. Mrs. Peterson has been very ill following fol-lowing an operation which she recently re-cently underwent at a Salt Lake hospital. hos-pital. Several of the Peterson children chil-dren have also been quite ill with flu. The Daughters of the Pioneers held their regular monthly meeting Thursday afternoon in the Relief Society rooms. The program and lunch were furnished by Mrs. Belle Clark, Mrs. Minnie Healey and Mrs. Alberta Bennett. SERVICES HELD FOR MRS. ANDREWS Impressive funeral services were held in the Alpine ward chapel for Mrs. Frances H. Andrews Wednesday Wednes-day at 1 p. m. The services were 1 under the direction of Counselor John A. Whitby. The. opening song was, "Jesus Lover of My Soul" by Madelene Wilkin, Inez Burgess, Mildred Mil-dred Clark and Betha Strong, and the invocation was offered by Elder James C. Healey. A biographical sketch was read by Mrs. May Marsh. The speakers were Elders Lewis Cameron, James W. Vance and Bishop E. W. Burgess. Following the remarks of Elder Cameron a duet "Jesus My Savior" was rendered by Mrs. Madelene Wilkin Wil-kin and Mrs. Inez Burgess. The closing song was "Resting Now From Care and Sorrow" by Mesdames Wilkin and Burgess and Misses Mildred Clark and Betha j Strong. The benediction was offer- J ed by Oscar Watkins and the grave j in the Alpine Cemetery was dedicat- ! ed by Joseph F. Marsh. o |
