Show I Pleasant Grove Locals Mrs. Kllen Stott left Friday for a two weeks visit with relatives at Los Angeles. Carl Alfred Pack of Pleasant Grove and Miss Ellen Amelia Iiuns-don Iiuns-don of Alpine, were Issued a license to wed Monday at Provo. Mrs. Minnie Nelson arrived Tuesday Tues-day to visit with her sister, Mrs. Vivian West, In the canyon and also other relatives at Pleasant Grove. A district meeting for all Primary slake workers will be held in the Third ward meeting house Wednesday, Wednes-day, October 27. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Pickering and Mrs. Pickering of Salt Lake City, were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph W. Larson. Hvrum E. Robertson returned home from the Veterans hospital Wednesday after undergoing an operation op-eration there over three weeks ago. Mrs. A. R. Overlade returned to her home in Salt Lake Sunday after spending a week here with her mother, Mrs. Mary Weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Rasmussen of Provo entertained at dinner Tues- I day evening in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph W. Larscn. Those attending at-tending from Pleasant Grove besides be-sides the guests of honor were Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Larscn and Mr. and I Mrs. I. E. Carlson. The brothers and sisters of Byron Adamson gave him a pleasant surprise sur-prise on his birthday, Thursday, October 7th, at his home. Games and luncheon occupied the evening hours. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Jesse M. Walker, Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Adamson and Mrs. Ro-wena Ro-wena Doane of American Fork, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Adamson, Mr. and ! Mrs. Dewey Adamson, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Adams, Mr. and Mrs. Marion"! Adamson, Mrs. David Adamson and Mi.ss Ellen Walker. Mrs. Lillian Fills and Mrs. S. W Hilton took their .sons back to the !A. C. nt l,o;.'.an Sunday after their j having spent the week-end at home, j Mrs. Kluulu Hrlenson entertained jher Gleaner Girls and the M Men i class at her home in the Windsor w ard Tuesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Josepn Andrews of hlaho Falls, Idaho, visited Sunday I land Monday with Mr. and Mrs. Fd-Imund Fd-Imund Cragun. This was the first visit these families have enjoyed for over Hi! years. Mr. and Mrs. Wlllard Harris returned re-turned to their home the first of the week after spending a pleasant time visiting wilh their daughters in Idaho. An erroneous report from last week that Ernest Smith was principal princi-pal at Kanab should have said that he Is teaching htl:h school at Order-ville Order-ville in southern Utah. Mr. and Mrs. Archie Maxfield motored to Salt Lake Monday to attend at-tend the Maxfield family reunion. Mrs. Sybil Green visited Monday w ith her mother. Mrs. Albert Chris-tensen. Chris-tensen. who is at the L. D. S. hospital hos-pital at Salt Lake where the underwent under-went an operation for a tumor. Niels Fcnton, who is a patient at the L. D. S. hospital is resting eas-: eas-: ier than he was last week. He has a j fractured leg from the kick of a j horse. Mrs. Mereda Danklef and infant daughter of Ontario, California, and Mrs. Velda Swenson of Los Angeles, are visiting here with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence West. Twenty-one relatives and friends of Mrs. Hacl West Strausburg, were entertained at a kitchen shower in her honor at the home of her aunt, Mrs. Leslie Freeman, Wednesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Peterson arc now settled at Albuquerque, New Mexica. Virgil teaches part of the day and attends night school. Mrs. Peterson is already busy as organist in a day nursery' and in Mutual and Relief Society work. Mrs. Heber Gardner has returned to her home here from the hospital after receiving successful medical care. She is reported to be improv- ing. Mi.ss Elaine Fenton, who is training train-ing as a nurse at the L. D. S. hospital, hos-pital, spent the week-end with her family here. Niels Monson, custodian of the Second ward chapel, was taken to the American Fork hospital Saturday Satur-day for treatment for a ruptured appendix and other troubles. Mrs. Elaine Baxter entertained in honor of her little daughter, Audry's fourth birthday anniversary Sunday. The following little guests were nrpsent : Shirlev. Claudine and Beverley Baxter, Nyla Mae, Connie Rae and Patsy Ruth Cragun, Hoover Hoov-er Clark and Clayton Wright. Mrs. Genevieve T. Smith and family fam-ily were at Midvale Sunday to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Buhler and their new daughter. Mrs. Smith and sons, Dean and Thorne, were Salt Lake visitors Monday. I I Several Manila ward members are I ill at the present time. Mrs. Laur-I Laur-I ence Atwood is suffering from a sciatic affliction, Mrs. Verda Grange is ill also at her home and Charles Warnick, son of President and Mrs. W. W. Warnick, was taken to the hospital for treatment a week ago. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Walker of Vernal left Monday after spending a week with their grandmother, Mrs. Chastina Walker, Mr. and Mrs. civ waiter nlso a trrandson of Mrs. Walker, are visiting with her for a while, until they can locate a home here. They were married last week. Mr. Walker will be employed by his uncle, Richard Walker, at his new service station in Lindon. . A fine affair of last week was the banquet given by the Junior Girls of the Windsor ward in honor of their mothers Monday evening. The table decorations were in beautiful autumn leaves. Neatly tied maple leaves being used as place cards. Each girl seated her own mother at the table. Four Bee Hive Girls, Madge Hooley, Edith Stark, Jewel Walker and Bernice Hrienson served. serv-ed. Lola Kirk acted as master of ceremonies. Between courses the following program was given. Duet Bessie Downs and Alice Anderson; reading, Vola Hooley; violin duet, Ruth and Merlyn Olsen. The ward Y. W. M. I. A. presidency were honored guests. |
