Thomas Adamson is very seriously , ill at his home with rheumatism. Mrs. Mary Wadley visited Thursday Thurs-day with American Fork relatives. Mrs. C. O. Jensen and daughter, Bonnie, were Salt Lake visitors on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Elton Taylor of Price, were in Pleasant Grove Thursday Thurs-day visiting with old friends. Mr. Taylor was formerly manager of the Dixon-Taylnr-Russell Co. of this city, previous to his being transferred to the Price institution as manager of the D. T. R. store there. Camp No. 2, will meet Thursday, January 23, at the home of Mrs. Archie Boren. The history of the parents par-ents of Mrs. Boren will be given. Other program numbers are being planned for the meeting. A hot lunch was served Wednesday evening at the Helen Monson home, when the following group of merry "Bob Sleigh. Riders" arrived there after' a thrilling ride of the old time sport: Charles Warnick, Eldon Pack, Merlyn Wadley, Ray Pulley, Billy Evans, Kenneth Adams, Nell Swenson, Swen-son, Lucie Wadley, Lorraine Swenson, Mildred Swenson, Elva Eves and Helen Monson. The Gleaner Girls and M. Men of the First ward enoyed their annual banquet Tuesday evening. Mrs. Hazel Spencer and Mrs. Rulon Dixon were in charge of the acair. The tables ,were beautifully decorated with Roquets of sweet peas and pink candle tapers in crystal holders. The guests of honor were the bishopric of the ward and Miss Estelle Fenton, Stake President of Y. L. M. I. A. Fifty-four guests were present. The banquet was served by the Beehive Girls, assisted as-sisted by Mrs. Spencer and Mrs. I Dixon. Mr. a;l Mrs. Xnt Loader made a business trip to Park City Wednesday. J. The Sophomore students of the Pleasant Grove High School are preparing pre-paring a "Pep Rally" to be given Friday Fri-day evening preceding the game between be-tween the local team and the B. C, U. High School team, Mrs. J. E. Hardman was taken to the L. D. S. Hospital Saturday very seriously ill. At first it was thought that an operation was necessary, but up to the present time Mrs. Hard-man Hard-man is just receiving medical treat-' ment. Physicians are not certain just what her trouble is. Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Harvey entertained enter-tained at a card party Monday evening. even-ing. Dinner was served early in the evening on small tables. "500" was the game enjoyed. The Elders Quorum of the Lindon and Windsor wards and their partners part-ners held a very successful dancing party Wednesday evening in the Lindon Lin-don Hall. The prize for the best waltz couple of the married folks was awarded to Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Hooley. The prize for the best fox trot for the young people was awarded award-ed to Sidney Cullymore and Dorothy Smith. Mrs. O. E. Grua attended a county board meeting of the Daughters of the Pioneers at Provo on Thursday. The officers and teachers of the Manila AVard Sunday School were guests of Mrs. Jessie Wadley Friday evening. AVilford J. Every member of the ward seems interested in-terested in the work waiting patiently patient-ly until the building can be used for all ward activities. The Misses Leda Thompson and Hazel Nuttall entertained at a social Monday evening at the James D. Thorne home. The evening was spent in .playing 500. The grand prize was won by Miss Jewel Linebaugh and A social was held Wednesday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Van Wagoner in honor of Miss June Van Wagoner, who will leave soon for Salt Lake to attend the L. D. S. Business college. The guests were: Miss Alda Pyper, Joseph! Ash, Lafe Wright and Brigham Van Wagoner. A similar party with the same guests from Pleasant Grove, with added Midway Mid-way friends was held Friday at the bome of Alda Pyper at Midway. Mrs. Eleanor Hayes of Provo returned re-turned home Saturday after a week's visit with her daughter, Mrs. H. E. Johnson and family. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. West of Salt Lake, were the guests of Mr. West's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nathaniel West on Sunday. the consolation prize by Miss Eve Forbes of Alpine. Newman attended a social given by the Lincoln High School faculty at the school Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Fugal had as their guests Wednesday, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Richardson and family of Payson, Mr. and Mrs. Fay. Steele of American Fork, and Mr. and Mrs. William M. Hone and family of this : city. Mrs. Ray Carlson entertained the "Busy Circle Club" at her home Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon, the occasion being her birthday anniversary. The guests were: Mrs. H. M. Nelson, Mrs. I. E. Carlson, Mrs. Edward Warburton, Mrs. Milton Jacobs, Mrs. William Aston, Mrs. C. A. Fugal and Mrs. Ruby Carlson. Cligord L. Wright, manager of the Pleasant Grove Canning Co., left Tuesday for Chicago to attend the National Canners convention. He will visit tht Campbell Soup Co., of Camden, N. J., where he had a large order of tomato puree last year for their company. Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Halliday, Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Jacobs and Mr. and Mrs. Uames D. Thorne attended the Boys play at the B. T. U., Thursday evening. Roland Jacobs and John Halliday, Jr., took principal parts in the play. Pleasant Grove High School students always make good in college work. John and Roland are popular B. Y. U. students. Mr. and Mrs. DeWayne Harper entertained a few friends Saturday evening at a card party. A tray luncheon was served late in the evening even-ing to the following guests: Mr. and Mrs. Wesley J. Beck, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Olson, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Green, Mr. and Mrs. William L. Green and Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Thorne. A surprise party was given at the new home of Mr. and Mrs. Muriel Walker, Friday evening, January 10.
