Show o Another Old Pioneer Passes Away Peter Wimmer, 90 year old pioneer and Indian fighter of this state, died Monday, January 6, at the home of his son, George S. Wimmer, of this 1 Htv He had been in poor health for a number of years previous to his death. Mr. "Wimmer was born March 23, 1840, in Pennsylvania. He was a member of one 'of the early handcart companies coming into Utah. Dis-pite Dis-pite the hardships and near starvation starva-tion of his first trip, he returned east and made a second trip across the plains. He was a pensioned Black Hawk war veteran, having spent, at ,,B time. 30 days with hostile Indians In 1918 Mr. Wimmer moved with his wife from Parawan to American Fork. Two years later his wife, Mary Amelia Smith Wimmer, daughter daught-er of the late Apostle George A. I Smith died. The following sons and daughters ,urvive: Mrs. Amelia Mary Burton,! Mrs Cora Morten of Parawan; Mrs. Clarisa Cleghorn of San Francisco, California; Warren Wimmer of Og- den Mrs. Josephine Morris of Bingham Bing-ham Canyon, George S. Wimmer of this city, Mrs. E. Stella West of Cedar City, Mrs. Libbie Griffith of Midvale, and Mrs. Katie Jennings of Murray. ; Funeral services were held n the East ward chapel at Parawan Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
