Show lew City Council Selects Committees-Officers Installed On Tuesday, January 2nd, the new mayor and city council members were officially sworn in by Notary Public S. L. Swenson. All officers had qualified quali-fied and were present for the city job. ; Ex-M'ayor Frank B. Newman made the following recommendations to j the new group' of officers, who are as ' follows: Mayor, Lewis Olpin; 4-year j councilman, Albert Bezzant; three 2- year councilmen, Clifton Clark, Leo j P. Harvey and Delbert Fugal; Re-! Re-! corder C. 0. Newman and Treasurer ! Marie F. Smith. j Becommendatfons 1 Following up all civil and crimi- i nal cases pertaining to the city in I the justice and district courts. j 2 Endeaver to replace as soon as , possible all old wood pipes with' new Iron pipes throughout the city water system. 3 New council to continue the move of all civic improvement such as, completion lot iron pipe fence around cemetery. Continue improve- ment at City Park and City Cemetery, Street improvements, etc. 4 Ex-Mayor F. B. Newman commended com-mended all retiring officers for their hearty cooperation and support during dur-ing his two terms of office. On Saturday evening the following -city committees were appointed: Waterworks Joseph A. Dickerson, chairman; L. P. Harvey and Delbert Fugal.. City Property Clifton Clark chairman; chair-man; Delbert Fugal and J. A. Dickerson. Dick-erson. Streets Albert Bezzant, chairman; Clifton Clark and L. P. Harvey. Irrigation and Cemetery Delbert Fugal, chairman; J. A. Dickerson and Albert Bezzant. License and Finance L. P. Harvey, Har-vey, chairman; Albert Bezzant and Clifton Clark. It was decided to raise the salary ' of the marshal sufficient to permit him to put in all of his time in taking tak-ing care of the City Park and City Hall lots, and be close to the city if needed for marshal service. ' The price of $3.00 per day per man I will he standard price for all city I work and $5.00 for team and man. |
