Show Lehi Man Elected Vice President of Poultry Ass'n. At the closing session of the annual an-nual convention of the Utah Poultry Poul-try Producers' Cooperative association associa-tion held Saturday at the Newhouse hotel, the annual election of officers took place, Randal Schow of Lehi being elected as first vice president, Mr. Schow has served as a director direc-tor of the association during the past year and has been president of the Lehi association for several years- He is well-qualified for this new position, having been closely associated as-sociated with the company and having hav-ing been engaged in poultry raising for several years. He is well learned on various phazes of the poultry uv dustry and is just the man for this new office. W. A- Shuldbcrg of Preston, Idaho, Ida-ho, was elected president of the association, as-sociation, succeeding Ray P. Lund of Manti. Other officers elected were Hyrum Peterson of Ogden, second vice president; pres-ident; John A. Johnston of Provo, third vice president; Clyde C. Edmonds, Ed-monds, secretary and general manager; man-ager; Harry L. Strong, treasurer; O. K. Ferre, assistant secretary; Charles P. Rudd, assistant treasurer; treasur-er; H. M. Blackhurst, assistant general gen-eral manager. A resolution urging the enactment enact-ment of congressional legislation for managed currency on a basis of a commodity price index was voted by members of the association. Speakers at the closing sessions discussed means of improving the economic position of poultrymen-Increasing poultrymen-Increasing production efficiency was urged by V. L. Martineua, Salt Lake county agricultural agent- Feeding and sanitation methods were discussed by Byron Alder of the Utah State Agricultural college extension service. He predicted 1936 would be a good year for growers, with no glut to the egg market. Financial working of the Berkeley Berke-ley Bank for Cooperatives was explained ex-plained by Phillip N. Mark, assistant assist-ant treasurer of the California institution. in-stitution. Other speakers included W. O. Ramshaw, president of the Utah Hatchers' and Breeders' association; Harry C. Strong, treasurer of the association; Mrs. J. R. Rawlins, George Albert Smith of the L- D. S. church council of twelve apostles; apos-tles; H- C. Tempest, manager of the association's Midvale branch, and Benjamin Brown of New York City, the association's sales representative. |
