Show Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bassett of Provo, and Mr. and Mrs. R. Nielsen motored to Tooele Sunday to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Iner Nielsen. Mrs. Nielson has been ill for some time with heart trouble. Am. Fork Locals Roy Greenwood left lust Sunday by bus for Flint, Michigan, to take delivery on a new Chevrolet sold him by the Nielsen Auto company. Miss Mildred Chipman has taken the position at the Chicken City Cafe left vacant when Evelyn Snape left for Salt Lake where she has employment. r Mrs. L. R. Pett and Mrs. Morley Steele were the hostesses of - the Boney Briers club their partners and about thirty invited guests at a dancing party in the Legion Hall Wednesday night. Clark Brown, who has been confined con-fined to his bed for about three months, was taken to the L. D. S. hospital where he underwent an operation op-eration to release the poison accumulated ac-cumulated in his leg as the result of a floor burn. He is reported as improving im-proving nicely and is expected to be able to return home in a few days. i In honor of the 79th birthday of Mrs. James W. Preston Wednesday was open house to her many friends and during the day about fifty people peo-ple called to express then- congratulations congratu-lations and wish her many more birthdays and prolonged good health. The G. A. club was the guest of Mrs. J. W. Phillips Wednesday night. Mrs. Charles Lafler conducted the parlimentary drill and Mrs. E. P. Evans ga$e a paper on Friendship taken from the radio program, The Voice of Experience. Dainty refreshments re-freshments were served. The Junior Literary club met at the home of Mrs. B. F. Moffett last Monday. Mrs. LaVell Singleton acting act-ing as hostess and Mrs. Estella Taylor Tay-lor conducting. Piano numbers were given by Mrs. Singleton and Maud Hardman of the Stewart Training school gave an illustrated talk on Art. New officers were elected' as follows: Mrs. Elmo Peters, president; Mrs. Charles Walker, Vice president and Mrs. Doris Bobinson, secretary. The executive committee includes Mrs. Grant Ingersoll, Mrs. Wilson Cunningham and Mrs. Allen Pearson. Kenneth Yancey is sailing on one of the U. S. Battleships on the way) to the Hawaiian Islands. The purpose pur-pose of the maneuvers planned is to test the nation's defense against attack at-tack on the Pacific Coast. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Carr and daughter of Seattle, Washington, arrived ar-rived in American Pork Sunday for a few days visit at the home of Mrs. Carr's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Chamberlain. Mr. Carr will work for the Utah Oil Refining Company in Salt Lake and they will make their home there. Mr. and Mrs. Owen D. West and two children of Brooklyn, New York, 1 arrived in American Fork last Fri- ! day. Mr. West has been employed by ; the American Surety company and has been transferred to Salt Lake City. Mrs. West, formerly Miss Eva Stice, and the children will visit for a short time before making their ' home in Salt Lake. ' Dr. James S. Chadwick and family are moving into the former Dr. Atlantic At-lantic Christensen residence the forepart of next week. Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Bush and daughter of Eureka, were the weekend week-end visitors at the home of his parents, par-ents, Mr. and. Mrs. Frank Bush. Len Chipman, who underwent an operation for a ruptured appendix two weeks ago, is reported as still in a serious condition but holding his 'own. E. Ray Gardner, principal of the seminary, announces the graduating exercises for the 1935 olass will be he.ld May 12th In the tabernacle at 2 p. m. A complete program will be announced later. The Deltha Dames met Wednesday Wednes-day at the home of Mrs. Myrtle Mercer Mer-cer and a good time is reported by all attending. Special guests were, Mrs. Eldon Chipman, Mrs. Neldon Birk, Mrs. Clyde Birk and Mrs. Milton Mil-ton Adams. The guest prize was won by Mrs. Adams and the club prize was awarded to Mrs. Helen Bate. Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Duxrant were the guests of honor at a social held in the high school Tuesday night by the M. I. A., the Sunday School and the Elders Quorum of the Fourth ward. A very good crowd was in attendance at-tendance and as Mr. and Mrs. Dur-rant Dur-rant are going to the Hawaiian Islands on a mission, Hawaiian music was featured at the entertainment. entertain-ment. A Book of Mormon, Pearl of Great Price and Doctrine and Covenants Cove-nants ' combined were presented to each missionary. The guardians of the Bee Hive department de-partment of the Third ward were presented with their bandeau with all the awards of that rank, at the meeting of the M. I. A. Tuesday night. Bee Keeper Ellen Tracy, wearing her bandeau, was in charge of the awarding, each girl having earned the money to purchase these awards by selling popcorn and candy at the different programs in the ward. The girls are: Evelyn1 Peck, Mary Jane Jacklin, Katherine Holin-drake, Holin-drake, Mildred Anderson and Rose Hicks. Mr. and Mrs. William Roberts entertained en-tertained at their home Monday evening in honor of their daughter, Lillian, and Mf. Lyle Street of Lehi, whose marriage took place yesterday in Salt Lake.' The - entertainment was in the form of a. miscellaneous shower and the young couple received receiv-ed many useful and beautiful gifts. Games were the main feature of the evening and dainty refreshments were served to twenty -five guests. Mrs. Leo Meredith was hostess at a delightful Bridge supper Saturday evening. The rooms were attractively attractive-ly decorated with snapdraggons. The guests were seated at the small tables where supper was served at 8 p. m. The guests were Mesdames Eugene Nicholes, Stanford Briggs, Glen Sykes, David Taylor; Stanford Wilde, Vern Houston, Adair Bromley, Mate Earl, Melvin Grant, Kenneth Brown, M. L. Baird, Spencer Taylor, James Chadwick, Kenneth Noyes, Mark Coddington, Eldon Chipman, Leige Chipman, E. H. Devey and Chris Scott. The high score prize was awarded Mrs. V. F.
