Show Mrs. Sadie Bromley is visiting this week, in Salt Lake City with her brother, John Wootton- Mrs- 'Harold Anderson of Orem, visited in American Fork Wednesday Wednes-day with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cheever- Mrs. Thelma Moss, Mrs. Leona Grant and Mrs- Eleanor Grant visited vis-ited Tuesday in Silt Lake City, calling call-ing on Mr. Melvin Grant who is taking' tak-ing' treatment there for an injured hand. The Ladies Literary club will hold their meeting Thursday, November 7 th, at the home of Mrs. Abe Gud-mundsen- A good program has been arranged and all members are urged to be present. The B. B. ladies held their first meeting after a three months vacation va-cation at the home of Mrs. J. E. Chadwick Thursday afternoon. Business Bus-iness of the club was transacted and plans for the next meeting made. j Mrs. June Wright, Glen Wright, I Mr. and Mrs- S. T. Shelley and son, I Paul, and Amy Shelley were Sunday dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. T. A- Masters of Bingham. The library had a bright and shinning shin-ning appearance Monday, having undergone a thorough cleaning during dur-ing the previous week. The Sorisis club will meet today at ,3 p. m. at the home of Mrs. Jar-vis" Jar-vis" Aydelotte. Mrs. C. A. Grant will review the book "The Lamb In His Bosom". All members are urged urg-ed to be present. The Variety club members and visitors were the guests of Mrs. Dena Grant at her home Wednesday Wednes-day afternoon. The gusets were Edith Singleton, Berniece. Adams and Leona Grant, Mrs. Grant winning win-ning first prize and Thelma Moss second prize. The Mothers classes, which have been postponed on account of the quarantine, will be resumed in, American Amer-ican Fork Thursday evening, November Novem-ber 7th, according to announcements made this week by the visiting nurse, Mrs. Mable Jones. The class will meet at 7 o'clock p. m. in the City Hall. A good attendance is especially desired. de-sired. The Mothers classes will meet Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in Alpine. Mrs. A. W. Clyde visited last week in Nephi at the home of her daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs- Clarence Gowers. Mrs-Clyde Mrs-Clyde was entertained by many of her former friends during her visit there. Mrs. Ray D. Nicholes and son, Paul, were week-end visitors in Salt Lake City, Mrs- Nicholes attending the U. E. A- meetings. Mrs. George Moss and two children, chil-dren, Jack and Colleen, returned Monday from a trip to Fresno, California, Cali-fornia, where they visited with relatives. rela-tives. The Beauty Shops of American Pork will be closed three days oi next week while the operators, Sar Mr. and Mrs. F. D. Babcok and family have moved to Murray. The Babcocks have been living on the J- Tracy Wootton farm at the South end of town. The Highland ward Mutual Improvement Im-provement Association is sponsoring a Hallowe'en party in the ward amusement hall to-night. The hall was attractively at-tractively decorated in keeping with the season, which added greatly to the spirit of the event. A large crowd of young people from all the wards of American Fork met and enjoyed the evening, many valuable prizes being given to those holding the lucky numbers. A fish pond, pop-corn and candy booths added variation to the program. Chief I. L. Pratt of the local fire departrment, is State organizer for the state association and in this position has made, several trips during! dur-ing! ' the past week to the various cities of the state. Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Pratt, Harold and Betty Mrs. E. B. Rucker returned to Salt Lake City Wednesday after visiting for a few days with Mrs. J. p. Werner. Wer-ner. Anderson and son, Ralph, and Wilma Sager of Ogden. .t-tae .Pratt and Maxine Moyle were in Tooele and attended the closing session of a three day school for firemen. Mr. Pratt presented the Tooele department with a cup won during the state tournament held in Heber last August. On Monday, Mr. Pratt met with the Provo department de-partment and presented them with two cups, one for first aid and one for the ladder climbing contest. Mr. and Mrs. John Oler and daughter, Wanda, of Sterling, Alberta, Al-berta, Canada, visited friends in American Fork Sunday. The Oler's are spending the winter months in Salt Lake City. John Sykes of Sterling, -Alberta, Canada, is visiting his many friends and relatives in- American Fork. Mr. Sykes is a former resident of this city having lived in Canada for about twenty years. Marie McTague, daughter of Mr and Mrs. Earl McTague, was taken to the Lehi hospital Tuesday evening eve-ning and operated on for a ruptured appendix. Her condition is reported as fair. Wednesday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. James Julian were: Arnold Crystal of San Francisco, California, John Sykes of Canada, Mr. and Mrs! Frank Capson and family of Salt Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Gilchrist Gil-christ of Lehi, Mr. and Mrs. Gayle Julian and family and Mrs. Ann Greenwood of this city. A meeting for all members of the Utah Poultry Association will be held Saturday at 7:30 p. m. in the City Hall, Frank Shellev in chm-o-o Mrs. Ann Cheever is visiting in Payson at the home o fher son, Hugh Cheever and family. Mrs. Rose Boyer of Glendale, California, Cal-ifornia, is visiting in American Fork it the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clair Christensen. Mr. and Mrs. George E. Abel, George F. Shelley and daughter, Sthel, and Charles Webb left Sunday Sun-day for Snowflake, Arizona, to visit with James Shelley and family. Mr. and Mrs- Samuel Grant and son, Max, and Dell Grant and Miss Elza Watkins of Alpine, visited Sunday Sun-day in Garland at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hampton and with Elliott Lee, who is working at the sugar factory there. The spooks were on parade Wednesday Wed-nesday night and a group of twenty gathered at the home of Mrs. E. N. Wagstaff, where they enjoyed an evening of Stung. Co-sponsors of the party were Glen Haslam, Arthur Ar-thur Gorden and Earl Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Smith have, purchased the Gles Sykes home In the Third ward where Heber Hansen Han-sen has been living, Hansen's" having hav-ing moved to the E. W. Winn home in the Fourth ward- The Birthday club members met Monday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Oma Mitchell in honor of her birthday, which came during the time of quarantine. Hallowe'en furnished the theme of the decor-1 ations, "Jack-oLanterns" being featured fea-tured as center pieces on the tables. Mrs. Ben Moffitt and Mrs. William Hansen won the prizes. There were twelve ladies present. LeGrande Adams' of Pleasant Grove has recently returned from a trip to the East, and will be in attendance attend-ance and discuss the poultry disease problems in that section. Another Cash Prize will be given at the Apollo Saturday night. The drawing will be made of names placed plac-ed in the box two weeks ago and on Hallowe'en night. Dont fail to be there and receive this valuable prize. The same good music will be there too. The Junior Literary League members mem-bers met Monday night at the home of Mrs. Dena Grant. Mrs. Elmo Peters conducted the business routine. rou-tine. Mrs. Eldon Chipman treated the subject of "Child Impressions, and When Character is Formed," sub-topics being treated by Mrs. Walter Devey, Jr. and Mrs. Wilson Cunningham.
