Show Manila 4-H Club Hold Party i The Manila 4 H Foods club held an achievement party Saturday eve-.ning, eve-.ning, October 2Cth, at the home of their leader, Mrs. Merrill N. War-I War-I nick. The girls mothers were guests of honor. The evening was spent in playing progressive "4-H club," after which a delicious tray luncheon lunch-eon was served- The color scheme was! green and white. The girls made individual tally cards and-used and-used 4-H club emblems. During the luncheon the following follow-ing toasts were given: "We Can," Helen Warnick; "We Achieve," Er-ma Er-ma Atwood; "We Travel," Laura Swenson, and "Next Year," by Mrs. Merrill N- Warnick- The prizes of the evening were won by Mrs. Dan Wadley and Miss Erma Atwood. This club has been one of the outstanding clubs of the state this year. Laura Swenson won the honor hon-or of being outstanding club girl of the state, and will go to Chicago next month, as a result of her achievement. Helen Warnick won first place in the county and second plaoe in the state in the foods preparation prep-aration contest. The club group exhibit won first place in the county, coun-ty, and first place in the state. The ' club canning exhibit won first place in the county and first place in the state. Laura Swenson received honor hon-or for being high individual judge in the home economics judging contest. con-test. Helen Warnick received first in the county and second in the state in individual canning exhibit-Erma exhibit-Erma Atwood received second place in the county and second place in the state in individual canning exhibit. ex-hibit. $23-50 has been won in prize .money by this club this year; also three dozen Kerr jars and medals for the contest. The committee in charge of this party were Mrs- Merrill N- Warnick, Helen Warnick, Erma Atwood, Margaret Mar-garet and Beth ' Wadley and Laura Swenson. |
