Show "A" TRACKSTERS WIN SEVENTH IN STATE Winning a place among the top fourth of the schools entered In the meet, the American Fork high school track team took seventh place in the state track and field meet at Salt Lake City Saturday. Ogden high school led the competition compe-tition iwth an overwhelming total of 36 points, 13 more than that made by the Provo Bulldogs, defending de-fending champions. Provo made 19 points and American Fork made lOVi. Strong track teams captured the other top places, in the following follow-ing order: Granite, second; Payson, third; Cyprus, fourth; Logan, fifth; Jordan, sixth. More than 30 schools entered the meet. Beck of American Fork took second sec-ond in the pole vault, and his team- mate, Chadwick, took third. Par-duhn Par-duhn continued his fine performance perform-ance in the hurdles, by taking third in the high hurdles event, and third in the low hurdles. Anderson of American Fork won fifth in the javelin, and fourth in the 220-yard dash. |
