Show 1939 "American" Is Outstanding School Yearbook Published by the Associated Students Stu-dents of the American Fork high school, the 1939 "American" was distributed Friday. Chloe Priday, was the editor, Garth Myers, business busi-ness manager, and Fern Smoot, faculty advisor. Theme of the 1939 yearbook is "Trees", and this is carried out in the literary work and illustrations. The Dedication states: "We, the students of American Fork High School, dedicate this book to TREES, which we hope to us will become symbols of the ideals of education." The book has three main divisions, devoted to administration, classes and activities. Each is headed by a division page worked out with illustrations illus-trations of trees, and a novel half-page half-page title page. Other features of the book are a fine red cover with a tree in relief, and plastic-bound; an outstanding snapshot section; modern mod-ern makeup, with photographic illustrations il-lustrations "bleeding off" to the edges of the page, and a four-page autograph section. Tribute to Jesse Green, a sophomore sopho-more who died March 18, 1939, is paid in the book. An "In Memor-iam" Memor-iam" page has a large picture of Jesse, with a quotation from Campbell: Camp-bell: "To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die." Salesmen were Norman Nor-man Clark, Laura Crystal, Curtis Chipman; Glen Barratc, Anna Beth Smith.
