Show u Birthday Dance Raises$123 Fund A fund of $123.72 was cleared on the President's Birthday ball and March of Dimes drive, Leo G. Meredith, Mere-dith, secretary and treasurer of the local committee in the fight against infantile paralysis, reported Tuesday. Tues-day. A total of $174.47 was contributed by residents, of which $127.63 represents repre-sents dance ticket sales; and $46.84, anti-paralysis button sales. Expenses totaled $50.75, including $42 for the hall and music, $3.43 for express charges on materials for the March of Dimes drive and for advertising, and $5.32 for programs and tickets. After expenses were paid, $174.47 remained, re-mained, Mr. Meredith reported. The money has been deposited in the hank and will be turned over later to the county organization. Fifty per cent will go toward the national drive against paralysis, and 50 per cent will be used within the county. Each community which contributed contrib-uted to the fund will be represented on the county board which will determine de-termine how the money will be expended. ex-pended. The local committee, of which C. A. Grant is general chairman, are pleased with the success of the drive here. |
