Jazz basketball league to hold organization meeting f The Intramural Division of the Jr.Jazz Basketball league will hold : sj'organizational meeting Wednes- - ; December 6 at 7:00 p.m. at the : Recreation Office. All coaches or team representa-tives should be in attendance at the meeting. Those who cannot attend the meeting cannot pick up the information packet at the Commu-nity Center. Girls' signups scheduled The elementary and junior high age girl's signups start this week - and run through December 16 at lie Community Center at 65 East 200 South. The elementary program includes !t third through sixth grade. There is aMidget Division for the third and fourth graders and a Mini Division ' fafifth and sixth graders. The cost of the Midget Division will be a I discount rate of $15 for residents ij and $18 for non residents. For the Midget division, the discount rate i will be $20 for residents and $23 I for non residents. If you pay after J December 16, all of these rates will increase $5. Tickets for' the Utah " Jazz game will run an additional 54. The Midget Division will start on Sat., January 13 in the Commu-nity Gym $2 in the northeast end of the building. The Mini Division will start on January 9 in the main gym of the Community Center. The Jr. High Division will in-clude seventh and eighth grade girls. Their tryouts will be held on Thurs-day, December 21 at 5 p.m. at the Community Center. All players will be placed on a team. The discount rate for this league will be $29 for residents and $32 for non residents. After December 16, the rate will be $34 for resi-dents and $37 for residents. The Jr. Jazz tickets can be purchased for an additional $4. Top scorer for the Vikes was Jug Jaclin with 19 points before fouling wt Brian Maughan had 15, Derek wbinsonhad 14, Danny Schoonover 11, Erick Johnsen 8 and Danny Norman 5. In the tourneys opening game, the Vikes defeated Mt. Crest 81-7- Robinson led the team with 23 points with Jacklin adding 20. Schoonover put in 16, Maughan 11 and Johnsen 8. Pleasant Grove plays on the home hardwoods tonight agsinst Clearfield. On Friday, Pleasant Grove will host Logan. Both teams have good basketball traditions and this is the first time this season for the hometown fans to see the Vikes play in PleasanUrove |
