Show Cedar Hills does have good news By RICHARD DALLEY Greetings to the people of the Pleasant Grove area from the 5,000 foot high town with the best air in the state of Utah. Well, at least in Utah Valley! We've had quite a bit of snow in Cedar Hills in the last few days, but Dave Grow has been good to clean our streets. Many people have a foot or so in their back yards. Jean Guitierrez mentioned to one of her neighbors on Maple Court that if he had been praying for snow, he could quit "cause we've got enough!" We're glad to welcome a new family into town, namely Chris and Debbie Andrus. They are moving in to the Marty Bell home on the west end of Cedar Hills Drive. Well, we now have our first hotel in town, sometimes known as the Hassard's log house. They have graciously welcomed four nephews into their home, as well as their dates from time to time. Sher Hassard is sometimes referred to as a hotel manager. The Cedar Hills Ward is happy to have four Elders serving as missionaries. They are Mike Walden in Addison, Texas; Don Gale in Bakersfield, Calif.; Jeff Taylor in Recife, Brazil; and Jason Hassard in Kassell, Germany. Elma Dalley has been visiting back east in North Carolina and Pennsylvania with three of her daughters and their families. Of special interest to her was a brand new January granddaughter. She and her husband, with their two families combined, now have a total of 32 89 grandchildren. We are happy that two more homes are being constructed on the west end of Oak Road. Dale Steiner of American Fork is building a home for his family and Taylor Homes is building a home for Chuck and Karen Amador. With the snow down here now, many people in town have observed deer just over our fences and sometimes right down in our streets. They're really pretty and graceful. I'm especially envious of the King family and the Rich family on the east end of Oak Road, for they have a perfect view of the deer and other wildlife in the foothills very close to their homes. Cedar Hills is sometimes known as the Primary of northern Utah County. We have a whole bunch of boys and girls who ride the school buses to school in Manila and Pleasant Grove. The other morning it was observed that there were about two dozen children boarding the elementary school bus at the corner of Sage Street and Maple Court. Well, spring is just around the corner, and then the town of Cedar Hills is starting another beautification program. Marcus Memmott has reported that plans are underway to cover the lagoons just west of town. Paul Snively is very interested in the beautification program because there are an abundance of weeds on some of the vacant lots near the lovely home where he and his wife live. Any citizens having interest in 1 beautification of the town are urged to contact the Town Council members or attend the monthly Town Council meeting. |
