Show Lady Vikes conclude pre-season play with perfect record, 6-0 The Pleasant Grove High School Lady Vikings finished up a successful suc-cessful pre-season basketball schedule, running their record to 6-0 j : win an easier than expected 61-47 ! victory over the 4-A Mountain View Bruins. The foul-plagued contest with ! three Viking starters exiting early because of foul trouble, allowed I Coach Marie Bone to utilize her ; bench, as the Vikings finished the j game with four juniors on the floor, j; Erin Measom proved to be more ; than the Bruins could handle early way with 18, Smith with 9, Van Dyke and Vikki Allred with 8 each. Lisa Hall and Traci Williamson each had 6, Joy Warner 4 and Kristine Larson 2. Following the holiday break the Lady Vikings will begin region play with two home games. Springville will meet the talented Vikings on Thursday, Jan. 7, and then Carbon will travel to play at PGHS on Tuesday, Jan. 12. and sparked the Vikings to a nine point half-time lead by scoring 14 first half points. Mountain View applied a full court press most of the game, hoping to rattle the junior guard i line of the Vikings, but Lisa Hall and Vikki Allred were able to handle the press well. More often than not, it led to an easy inside ' buckets off the press by Measom, Hope Smith and Kirsten Van Dyke. All who played contributed to the scoring, with Measom leading the |
