Show PGHS to hold annual blood drive, adults invited The Utah Valley Hospital Blood Bank will be sponsoring a blood drive at the Pleasant Grove High School in conjunction with "Operation Relay" on Wednesday, Jan. 29, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the auditorium. Mike Johnson, studentbody president, encourages all eligible students to participate in this annual an-nual service project. Not only can you be involved in an important community affair, but you will b e assuring the high school credits, for anyone needing blood transfusions. Donors are reminded to eat a good meal a few hours prior to donating and should be in good health. The age requirement is 17- year-olds can donate with parent's written consent. At the present time Utah Valley Hospital is using about 500-600 pints of blood a month. Only with the support of programs such as "Operation Relay" can community members meet these requirements. Volunteers donating the "Gift of Life" are known as quiet heros. The life you save may be your own. The high school with the greatest percentage of the eligible donors participating will win a $200 scholarship and trophy at a special awards banquet given by Utah Valley Hospital Blood Bank. Members are the community are encouraged to take part. |
