Show Local lass named as semi-finalist semi-finalist in magazine contest Mindy Swensen, 17, of Pleasant Grove, has been chosen as a semifinalist in "Teen" magazine's 1987 Great Model Search, one of the nation's biggest annual hunts for new modeling talent. Her photo will appear in the February issue of "Teen" as one of the 16 semifinalists in her region. She is the daughter of Dorothy and Lyman Swensen. Mindy now becomes eligible for selection later this year as a contest "super" semifinalist, the next step in winning the competition. This year's Great Model Search will appear on the cover of Teen Tnd win a $5,000 cash award from Maybelline and an prance in a national Maybelline ad a $5000 modeling contract with the Gillette Company, a 1987 Mazda 23 Luxury Hatchback and a fashion wardrobe from Ups 'n Downs stores. The contest is open to teenagers 12-18 in the U.S. and Canada. Entry forms are available in current issues of "Teen." |
