Show Review - Wednesday, April 2, 1986 - Page 8 Dusty Davis receives honor Dusty Davis has been n amed employee of the month at Lindon Care and Training Center. Dusty was born in Pleasant Grove. She is currently attending Pleasant Grove High School, where she is in her junior year. Dusty is ' planning to attend college after she graduates. Dusty is the third from the oldest child in a family of eight. She has four sisters and three brothers. Some of Dusty's favorite things to do are reading, swimming and camping. She say's that camping is her most favorite. Dusty began working at Lindon Care and Training Center in Sep-tember of 1985. She was placed by JTPA, which is a co-o- p program at her high school. She works in the business office as the office aide. Dusty is a very dependable employee. She has learned many new things while working in the office and is doing a very good job. Dusty is eager to learn more about ths business office and strives to do the best she can to make the office run smoothly. ; v. I ' , " - .... P.G. Stake plans musical The Pleasant Grove Stake Relief Society is planning "A Night with Broadway" at 7 p.m. on April 3 in the Grove-Nint- h Ward Chapel. Music from the "King and I," "Oklahoma," "Annie," "The Sound of Music" and "My Fair Lady" will be sung by choirs from each of the wards. There will also be some special musical numbers. Everyone over age six is invited to attend. The chapel is located at 200 S. 400 E. in Pleasant Grove. Jason Christensen Youth earns Eagle badge Jason Christensen received his Eagle Scout Badge at a Court of Honor held on January 28, at the Lindon First Ward. Jason is the son of Fred and Susan Christensen. He is an eighth grader at Pleasant Grove Junior High School. He is currently the Deacons Quorum President in his ward and is patrol leader in his scout troop. He is a very good artist and loves working with wood. He loves scouting and he already earned his bronze palm. His goals in life are to be involved in some kind of work that requires artistic ability or else be a policeman. For his Eagle project, he saved a planter of rose bushes for the new city hall when construction began last summer. Local violinist to perform vf ;K Angela Olpin, 14, daughter of Dee and Pauline Olpin, will perform with the Young Chamber Players of Utah, April 12 at 7:30 in the Assembly Hall on Temple Square. There is no charge for admission and tickets are not required. Ad-mission is limited to those eight years of age and older. The Chamber Players are conducted by Dr. David Dalton, BYU. Angela was introduced to the violin at the age of five. She studied for five years with the well-know- n Hiroko Primrose. She is now a student of Dr. Madeline Schatz, internationally known conductor and presently a member of the University of Utah faculty. Angela has attended the Summer String Institute at BYU for the past five years. She traveled to Japan with her teacher, Hiroko Primrose, during the summer of 1983 where she studied with Dr. Shinichi Suzuki, founder and teacher of the Suzuki method of playing. During the summer of 1985 she was the soloist with the BYU String Orchestra where she played the 2nd movement of the Violin Concerto No. 4 in D Major by Mozart. This past fall, Angela toured with the Young Chamber Players of Utah, performing in several Angela Olpin western states. In September of last year, she also competed at the Utah State Fair competition, playing the first movement of Bruch's Concerto No. 1 in G Minor and Romance by Beethoven. Angela is a student in the eighth grade at Pleasant Grove Junior High. |
