Bowen, American Fork, has been awarded the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) diploma and professional designation from the American College of Bryn Mawr, Penn. One of the nation's oldest and largest accredited nontraditional educational institutions, the college specializes in professional education in financial sciences. After graduating from BYU with a degree in Business ManagementFinance, Mr. Bowen began his life insurance career in July of 1977 when he signed an agent's contract with New York Life Insurance Co. His father, Fred Bowen, worked for New York Life for 30 years prior to Bruce assuming his agency. Bruce has achieved membership in the prestigious Million Dollar Kound Table each year since joining New York Life, an ac-complishment enjoyed by only two percent of insurance agents. Bruce lives with his wife, Melissa, and their four children in American Fork, where he maintains his business office. Bruce VV. It will be of special interest to parents of physically disabled children who, otherwise, function normally. The group's purpose is to provide a time and place where parents can voice concerns, frustrations and constructive ideas with each other. ' The first meeting will be held on May 9 at 7 p.m. at the Multi-purpos- e Room in the Orem City Center, 65 N. State. At that time, the needs and hopes of those attending will be deter-mined to provide a base on which to expand ideas and plans for the future. Please feel free to bring your children. League of Utah Writers to meet May 9 A panel of three writers, Theron J, Luke, newspaper columnist, Brad Wilcox, youth writer, and Faye C. Richan, local poet, will form a panel of speakers at the meeting of the Utah Valley Chapter of the League of Utah Writers on Thursday evening, May 9, at 7:30 p.m. in the Job Service Building, 1550 N. 200 West, Provo. There will be a question and answer session, a door prize, and refreshments. The public is invited. |
