L sr -'" . v.' r -s. ; ; j Vikings of the Month for May at Pleasant Grove High School are, L-R, Mike Albrech,, Wendy Searle, Erica Kimball and Ron Simmons. The final Vikings of the Month for the 1984-85 school year were named this week at Pleasant Grove High School. Selected are seniors Don Parker and Wendy Searle; juniors Ron Simmons and Erika Kimball; and sophomores Michael Albrecht and Trin Card. Don is the son of Robert and Ilene Parker. He has always enjoyed sports and has participated mainly in the football program and has "loved" it. His claim to fame is his Number 53 football jersey. He is known to have the greatest friends. Friends are important and Don thanks them for understanding and accepting him just the way he is. Don has been on the honor roll many times which reflects his attitudes at-titudes towards learning and his teachers. He is a senior and after graduation he will be working full time at Magleby's Restaurant where he is now employed. His boss and supervisors have complimented him for being a very good worker, as have all his previous employers. His plans for the future include an UiS mission and college. His major will probably be in the medical field. Don's hobbies include skiing, music, motorcycles and girls. Wendy is the daughter of Linda and Robert Searle. She will be graduating from Pleasant Grove i High School this month. While at- I tending high school she has been involved in many activities. She has been secretary of the FBLA, secretary of the FHA and a member of the Ski Club. She has also been active in church and has held numerous leadership positions in . her ward. Her hobbies include skiing, both water and snow, camping, motorcycle motor-cycle riding, sewing and cooking. Last fall she had the opportunity of touring France, Switzerland and Germany for a month. Wendy has received a scholarship to Utah Technical College where she plans to further her education and her interest in the secretarial field. : Erika is the daughter of Wayne and Pam Kimball. She is the oldest of seven children. Erika is very talented musically. basketball and baseball. The Bantom basketball team he was on took first in Region. He played Little League and Pony League in baseball. Last year his baseball team took city and Michael was named to the All State team in the state tournament. tour-nament. This year he was on the sophomore football team and is currently on the baseball team. He is on the high school honor He loves to water ski, fish hunt. He likes school and girls enjoys going to help his dad ontt farm. He likes any food but main! pizza and spaghetti. Don Parker Scout and has extended seven palms past this rank. He is a member of the Order of the Arrow. Ron has received his varsity Scout Letter. He enjoys sports, scouting, music, law, computers and government. Trin is the daughter of Aaron and Bonnie Card. She is number 14 in a family of 21 children. Trin came to Pleasant Grove when she was six years old from Korea. She tries her hardest at anything she does. She enjoys academics and works hard in her studies. She has recently received a scholastic award from the National Honor Society. She loves most sports and is on the volleyball and basketball teams. She loves to cook, read, dance and be with her friends. Michael was born in Everett, Washington and is the son of Stan and Evelyn Albrecht. He has a great enthusiasm for life. He is known for his smile. Mike is very considerate and kind to his family and friends. He is a member of the Pleasant Grove Thirteenth Ward and was president of his Deacon's Quorum aiid has been a counselor in the Teachers Quorum. He was a member of the junior high chorus and plays the piano. He has always been very interested in-terested in sports. He plays football, Trin Card She plays the piano, viola, and used to play the violin and bass violin. She plays the viola with the Alpine Chamber Orchestra and teaches piano in her home. She is a member of the National Honor Society and gels good grades. She is active in FBLA and FHA. She enjoys being outside and likes to play Softball and do yard work. She also enjoys sewing. Erika has lived in Arizona, California, New Mexico, Wisconsin, Texas and Utah. Ron is the son of Ron and Marlene Simmons. He is a member of the National Honor Society, A Cappella Choir, Debate team, basketball team, and track and cross country teams. He has been seminary class president for two years. He is an announcer and disc jockey on KPGR Radio and was awarded the Most Outstanding Academic Student of the year, is listed in the United States Achievement Academy Book and the All American Scholar Award book. He was vice president of the ninth grade seminary council and was a member of the junior high basketball team. He has been on the Pleasant Grove Swimming Team for 10 years.
