Show Cowboys, cowgirls saddle up for fair rodeo finals Some 200 semi-professional cowboys and cowgirls will match skills in the Rocky Mountain Rodeo Association rodeo finals competition at the 1985 Utah State Fair. The event is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, and 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, in the arena at the fairgrounds. Admission to the rodeo is free to fairgoers. The program will include bronc riding, bull riding, steer wrestling, team roping, bareback riding, barrel racing and other events. Since the rodeo was added to the state fair program several years ago, fans attending the fair have been charged extra admission to the rodeo, according to Art Jones, fair director. "This year we decided to add it to the list of free entertainment en-tertainment at the fair, along with the demolition derby," he explained. The Rocky Mountain Rodeo Association was organized in 1957 to serve the semi-professional cowboys and cowgirls of the In-termountain In-termountain area. The organization sponsors an average of 30 rodeos during the year. The state fair rodeo is sponsored |
