Show I County Fair Aug. 15-18 G . Why bother to come to the Utah f lH County Fair? There are lot's of reasons, and this year's Fair k) promises to add even more reasons si; to the list as it looks like the best isii; Fair yet! ni The Utah County Fair has two it major purposes in mind: to help the j toere of Utah County stimulate !ii interest in their products, and to c) bring an educational, exciting, fun a event to the consumers of Utah ji County... , The Fair provides a wonderful jj opportunity for the farmers to bring it' in their best produce and livestock ij and compare it with the best from tf around the county. He can get a i good idea from the various exhibits as to just what constitutes quality ii in all kinds of agricultural and jj animal products. It also gives the farmers a chance to meet, socialize, , and discuss problems with other i farmers from all parts of the County. It provides an opportunity for fraternizing that is not provided any other gathering or event. There is no other place where rymen can talk over their concems as effectively as while looking over a barn full of the finest y specimens available! Not only can the farmer increase own understanding of his i products, the fair also provides the tj opportunity for farmers to show off l to great "consumer appeal" of (' Bar goods. ) Plays can be arranged so that !, consumers will be impressed ; "M want to buy the products they i jw at the Fair. Information may i given by place card andor I Wemuttent lectures, and since ' OMsumere are becoming more w&re of what they eat, they're to be interested in the "ary value of the items "Mand new ideas and serving suggestions always hold appeal for the cook! The Fair helps then to stimulate a greater demand for the products of our local farmers! But the Fair isn't just for the farmers! There are so many different displays and events going on that the consumer is certain to find something for every member of the family! The educational value is exceptional. The housewife can become acquainted with the many varieties of apples, peaches, carrots, potatoes, etc., and she can make comparisons. Everyone can become acquainted with the judging procedures and find out exactly why one animal or article is placed higher than the other! But the fair is not just agricultural, and not only educational. The Home Arts, Fine Arts,. Floriculture, and 4-H 4-H divisions are all enjoyable, beautiful displays, not to mention the continuous entertainment "Under the Big Top" that includes music, dance, drama, as well as many other talents. Plus there's the carnival, the concession and sale booths, the wildest rodeo in the West, and the opening event of the Fair, the Utah County Scholarship Pageant The scope of the Fair is so vast that it's hard to see everything! It's certainly not true what some are heard to say "See one fair, you've seen them all." Every fair is unique, and this is one you really shouldn't miss! So support your County Fair. The interest of the public, and the hard working committees, supervisors, and board members have made the Fair possible, and made it progress each year to promise you that this year's fair will be the best one yet!
