Show THURSDAY, MARCH 27, 1 980 PLEASANT GROVE REVIEW, PLEASANT GROVE, UTAH THURSDAY, MARCH 27, 980 New, Unique Weight Loss Program A new and unique weight loss program is being sponsored by the Rocky Mountain Fami-ly Institute of Orem, with sessions being held weekly. It is called the Peer Program for Weight Control and is a plan to control weight and 1 eating habits with the support of spouses, friends and family members. Now you can even work together as a neighborhood. The Peer Program can be held in the convenience and comfort of your own neighborhood by organizing your friends and neighbors into a group which can meet in your home. Organizers may par-ticipate free. Participants will learn how their mar-riage, friendships, or family can help or hinder weight control. According to Dr. Lynn Scoresby, Direc-tor of RMFI, "Weight loss can be accomplish-ed more easily with a good support system of family and friends." "The Peer Program inco-rporates a PSR (Preparaton for into each in-dividual's planning." "This PSR is design-ed to strengthen the in-dividual's ability to control eating and weight, and is an impor-tant part of the Peer Program for Weight Control. Included also in the Peer Program are Peer Conferences held periodically throughout the eight week program with the participant, a peer and a trained counselor who has ex-pertise in weight loss, nutrition, and the in-fluence of relationships on people. Recreation Department Sponsors Ping-Pon- g Pleasant Grove C ity Recreaton Department is sponsoring a doubles and singles ping-pon- g tournament March 31 beginning at 6:30 p.m. The tournament is open to all ages of boys and girls, men and women. Anyone interested in participating is en couraged to register at-th- e recreation center of-fice, located at 41 East 200 South, in Pleasant Grove before March 31st. An entry fee of $2.00 per person or $5.00 for a family will be charged. Families are encourag-ed to participate and enjoy some fun together. The tournament will be held at the J.C. building by the rodeo grounds in Pleasant Grove. Fee for the classes is $20, which includes in-struction, balls, and use of clubs.
