Show THURSDAY, MARCH 27, 198o THURSDAY, MARCH 27, 1980 PLEASANT GROVE REVIEW, PLEASANT GROVE, UTAH Rec. Dept. Belly Dance Class Set to Start Belly Dancing class to begin April 1st Tues-day at classe are to be held at the PI. Grove Recreation RuildinR 41 Fa- -t "Wl south. Fee for the 6 week class is $6.00 classes are going to be taught by Marion Van-Zan- t. The Trade Co. Sets Up Barter Business in Pleasant Grove Area service charge on tran-sactions. Monthly newsletters will be sent to all members to keep them informed as new ser-vices and goods become available. More information can be obtained by contac-ting Mrs. Don (Judy) Carter, 850 West 1100 North, Pleasant Grove or Mrs. Eric (Ellen) Peterson, 1010 E. 550 South Pleasant Grove. The Trade Co., an organization establish-ed to give individuals a trading market for their goods and services has been organized in this area. The Trade Co. head-quartered in Pleasant Grove will serve all of Utah County and has a membership goal of 1,000 people. Memberships in this unique service are not limited to business and professional people, but are open to anyone hav-ing a legitimate service, skills or goods to trade. A special feature of The Trade Co. is it's discount membership available to senior citizens. Company of-ficers feel the service can be particularly valuable in meeting the needs of our senior citizens in such areas as yard work, house clean-ing, transportation etc. In return our senior citizens have a wealth of talent to trade, for example skilled craft-smanship, quilt making I ' and other fine hand ! work. Membership fees are nominal and there is no Letter Backs Mrs. Harmer on Keeping Miss PL Grove Dear Strawberry Com-mittee: In regards to the recently published item in the Pleasant Grove Review concerning the elimination of the Miss Pleasant Grove Royal-ty, I would like to voice an opinion. I wholeheartedly agree with Mrs. Carol Harmer. The Miss Plea-sant Grove royalty is a tradition in our city, why must we be like everyone else. Progress is very good, however, it does not always serve the people to its fullest if all points are not thoroughly examined. I suggest we consider making changes in respect to trading titles of the two royalties as Mrs. Harmer has sug-gested and also having the Strawberry Days royalty participate only throughout the celebration. This would help to decrease cost and yet let this unique tradition continue. The oppor-tunities afforded these girls are exceptional due to the fact they are a much larger group than most of the other cities royalty. The chance for growth and participa-tion are wonderful. If one considers all aspects, the reason our city chose to have two royalties was to afford more opportunitv to its young women than just hope of being the one girl chosen to go on to the Miss Utah pageant. There is so much more here to consider. Please give all in-terested in this matter a chance to voice their opinion before discon-tinuing such a beautiful tradition. Becky Mills Christeson !
