Show Moron Oveson Installed As New Lions Club President 1st vice president of the Past District Governors organization. Local Lions and their wives representing the Pleasant Grove at the International Convention held recently in Montreal, Canada, were Orval and Caroline Carter, George and Carol Jaynes and Marvin and Lois Jorgensen. The group report a very interesting tour of the east and enjoyed mingling with Lions from all over the world. The Pleasant Grove is now small in number but do a Lions share of the community service rendered in our community. The new officers invite community minded men who desire good fellowship and an opportunity for service, to join the club. Maron Oveson, a past District Governor and longtime member of the Pleasant Grove Lions Club, was installed as presdient for the coming year, and will direct the club until July. 1980. Other faithful and civic service-minded service-minded Lions installed to serve with President Oveson were Stan Johnson, John-son, 1st vice president; Carl Carnesecca, Car-nesecca, 2nd vice president; Vance West, secretary-treasurer; George Jaynes, tail twister; Jay Macfarlane, Lion tames and Paul Schumann, past president. Holdover directors are Marvin Jorgensen and Jess Monson, 1 year and Sherman Varney and Marvin Smith, 2 year directors. Past District Governor Lion Rulon Broadhead and his wife Irene, from the Nephi Club were guests for the evening and he officated in the installation in-stallation ceremony. Ray Hunt entertained the group with guitar and vocal music and involved in-volved the group in singing. At the state convention held in Vernal, Lion Oveson was elected |
