Show Garden Club Anniversary with 4-H clubs and has spent many hours in community work. She gave a most interesting in-teresting talk on points and ideas on how to help take care of our land through our natural resources, its soil and minerals and its forests and waters. Mrs. Sunderland said love your land and don't destroy the natural resources. She said we have need of good conservation. Refreshments were served along with a beautiful decorated birthday cake . The following were present besides those mentioned. Mary Mc-Cormick, Mc-Cormick, Velma Gillman, Mary Shoell, Lucille Hillman, Fern Harris, Karla Haynie, Ruth Cobbley, Verland Saling, Virginia Bonham, Evelyn Schoonover, Mary McCandless, Faye Belliston, and Alice Simper. The 27th anniversary of the Pleasant Grove Garden Club was held last Thursday at the home of Edna Hunt. Lurena Warnick was co-hostess and there were 18 members and one guest present. Prayer was given by Mrs. Warnick, and a garden club thought was given by Mrs. Hunt. President Irene Earl conducted con-ducted club business and invites in-vites new members. Eva Reynolds, first president of the Garden Club in 1951, gave a most interesting in-teresting talk on the history of the Club and what the club has done for her. Beautiful new books for the year 1978 was given each member, designed and printed by Joan Lewis. The books are entitled "A Moment of Beauty." Guest speaker Joy Sunderland Sun-derland of Lehi was introduced in-troduced by Lurena Warnick. She is a past president of the Utah County Soil Conservation Conser-vation group, and has worked |
