During the tournament the home team was decided prior to each game by a coin toss. Of the 18 games over the three day tourney, the home team won 12! If there is a home team advantage, ad-vantage, it lies not in the physical but the psychologial side of the game. Simply knowing that no matter what the other team does, you'll get a last chance, allows you to play relaxed and not forced those mistakes that cost games. Community First KPGR, local non-commercial radio station, broadcast the championship game. Jim Starr, station manager, did the play with Frank Mills adding the color. ALAN GREEN BEST PITCHER |
