Show Colorful Act, i lucky Stars ' Will Thrill Spectators The Lucky Stars, colorful family rodeo act, is composed of the children of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Hardin of Bakersfield California. Riding matching Palamino-Pinto horses and wearing bright costumery, The j Stars fill the arena with color and excitement, s Ranging in age from 13 to 21, the Lucky Stars provide thrilling acts such as Trick Riding, Roman Riding and Jumping. Amy, the oldest at 21, does the Roman Riding and joins with Ron, 18, and Victoria, 13, for their fast and exciting Trick Riding Act. The act had it's beginning 11 years ago when the girls mastered 4-H Horsemanship and looked about for new challenges. Mrs. Hardin is a former Trick Rider and movie stuntwoman, so it was only natural that the kids would want to turn their energies in that direction. Many hours and many more spills later the girls and a neighbor boy mastered enough tricks to go looking for a place to perform. Their first public performance took place in the resort country of Missouri in 1965. From that start they have gone on to ride in Canada, Mexico, and just about every state west of the Mississippi River. One of the high points of their career has to be the three performances they did at Disney-world in Florida. The Lucky Stars perform such tricks as Backbends, One Foot Stands, Single and Double Vaults, Liberty Stands, Suicide Drags, and many others. During a performance all members of the family participate. par-ticipate. Mother and Father hold pennants for the trick riding, hustle props for the roman riding, and generally get themselves in the way of the real performers. |
