They will lead P.G. in Region 6 tennis action today and tomorrow at Am. Fork Vikes Victorious Over Uintah in Baseball by Jack Hill A great catch plus a bases loaded strikeout sparked Pleasant Grove over Uintah in baseball action last Thursday. With the Utes threatening in the first inning, Viking Gary Jackson raced to the fence to rob Phillips of an extra base hit. Uintah still managed to load the bases on two walks and Merrels single. Starting pitcher Kerry Walker struck out Gary Huber to retue the Utes without a score. These two plays seemed to lift the Vikings, who have been in a mid-seaso- n slump. Kelly Duke led off the second inning with a single and scored on Mark Walkers triple. Kerry Walker singled in Mark for a 0 Viking lead. Pleasant Grove added three in the third. Quen Wilson walked and Brent Keetch singled. Bret Frampton reached first on an error, scoring Wilson. Another Ute error plus Dukes sacrifice fly produced two more runs. The Utes got a run in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings. At this point John Hoover, coach of the Vikings, called in relief pitcher Verlyn Ashton. Ashtonput out the Ute "fire" to preserve the Viking win. KERRY WALKER . . was winning pitcher for Vikes in recent Uintah game.
