Show "Women in Transition" Workshop Set by Utah Tech. to return to work or a move to a new location each can be a crisis in your life. "We are calling our workshop 'Women in Transition,' Tran-sition,' with the subtitle 'Recycling Your Life'. It is the purpose of our workshop to help you gain resources and the stability necessary to successfully surmount it." Two outstanding experts in women's problems have been secured for the workshop, said Mrs. Reid. One is Nanci Klein, Salt Lake City, coordinator coor-dinator of services and co- director of women's therapy for the Salt Lake Community Mental Health Program. The other is Janet Warburton, psychiatric social worker and co-director of the women's therapy program for Salt Lake Community Mental Health. The workshop will be held at Utah Tech at Provo from 7 to 10 p.m. on Dec 3, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec 4. There is a $3.00 registration fee and women are urged to write or phone reservations to Utah Technical College at Provo. Some indication of attendance at-tendance should be made in advance, said Mrs. Reid. It can be done conveniently by phone, she said. Inquiries concerning the workshop may be made by phone to the Dean of Women's office at Utah Tech. All phases of a crisis for women will be treated, said Mrs. Reid, including the emotional stress, legal and financial problems and child care and responsibilities involved. in-volved. Lectures, small group discussions and sub-group exercises will be the means employed to help each individual in-dividual to meet her particular par-ticular problems of the crisis. A key point of the workshop, said the director, will be to focus on future goals as well as how to solve the problems at the moment. Mrs. Reid said a nursery will be provided for children 2'2 through seven, but that only a limited number can be taken and mothers wishing this service should make immediate im-mediate reservations. "Women in Transition," a workshop designed to aid women undergoing some great change or crises in their lives, will be held at Utah Technical College at Provo on Dec. 3 and 4. According to Mrs. Carol Reid, dean of women at Utah Tech and chairman of the event, it is for all women interested in-terested regardless of age. "This is a community service ser-vice sponsored by the college for women everywhere who may wish to attend," said Mrs. Reid. "Perhaps you are undergoing a divorce, a separation, or even a decision |
