Kay Swensen was the Viking's Vik-ing's outstanding defensive player and Dale Wright the offensive player of the game. Sophomores Drop Lehi Last Week 32-9 in Football The young Vikings started slowly last Thursday (actually were being pushed all over the field for the first four minutes) but then exploded for 26 points in the remainder of the first half and went on to down Lehi 32-0 in the Sophomore game. Dale Wright went 45 yards on an inside reverse for T.D. No. 1 and Ron Moosman passed to Brad Hardy for the two point conversion. Moments later Wright crashed crash-ed in the end zone behind Carl Christensen and Kay Swensen blocks to up the score to 14-0. On P.G.'s next possession, Wright turned the left corner and went 35 yards for T.D. No. 3. As the halt closed, Kevin Green raced 65 yards with a punt to post T.D. No. 4 and the half-time score was 26-0. After a sluggish third quarter, quar-ter, the Vikings posted T.D. No. 5 on a beautiful pass from Moosman to Todd Meranda, which was good for 30 yards. |
