Show THURSDAY, NOVEMBER tl, 197i PLEASANT GROVE REVIEW, PLEASANT GROVE, uYAH THURSDAY, NOVEMBER it, 71 Lindon Lions Hold Halloween Party Lindon Lions Club members and wives met at the club house Wednesday, Ostober 27, for their annual Halloween Party, with President Wayne Thomas conducting. Everyone came dressed in their favorite spook costume, to enjoy a delicious pot luck dinner. Prizes were awarded to the best costumed man & woman. An evening of games and festivities were truly enjoyed by those in attendance. A business meeting was held on Wednesday, November 10 at the Club House. Players Urged to Sign for Slow Break Basketball It was announced Tuesday that those men in the Pleasant Grove, Manila and Lindon area who are interested in playing Slow-Brea- k Basketball this winter may sign up at the Pleasant Grove City Hall, or by calling Bill Hoglund 785-396- Those signing up may do so as teams or on an individual basis and then be assigned to teams afterwards. Games will be played each Wednesday night in the Senior High School Gym from 7 to 10 p.m. The schedule below will be followed: Wednesday, November 17th practice; December 1st prac-tice. League play will begin December 8 and continue thru February 23, 1972. A registration fee of $20.00 per team will again be charged this year. AN ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE OPERATION OF MOT-OR VEHICLES, TRAILERS OR SEMI-TRAILE- UPON ANY STREET WITHIN THE LIMITS OF PLEASANT GROVE CITY UNLESS THE SAME IS IN A SAFE MECH-ANICAL CONDITION TO BE KNOWN AS SECTION 10-9-2- 0. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE City Council of Pleasant Grove City as follows: SECTION 19-9-2- 0: VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT MUST BE IN SAFE MECHANICAL CONDITION: No person shall drive or move on any public street or highway within the limits of Pleasant Grove City any motor vehicle, trailer or semi-trail- er or any combination thereof unless the equipment upon any and every said vechicle is in good working order and adjustment and said vehicle is in such safe mechanical condition as not to endanger the driver or other occupant or any person, persons or property. Any person convicted of violating any provision of this Ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not more than $50.00 or by imprisonment in the Pleasant Grove City jail, or in the Utah County jail for not more than 30 days or by both such fine and imprisonment. This ordinance shall take effect upon the expiration of 30 days after its final passage and 20 days after its publication or posting as provided by the laws of the State of Utah. The open house will also be at the church. Sen. Ernest Dean Continutes on Committee Work Washington, D.C. Senator Ernest Dean of American Fork has accepted an invitation to continue to serve on the Inter-governmental Relations Com-mittee of the National Legis-lative Conference. The committee contains a cross section of the 7,600 legis-lators throughout the country and has become the focal point for developing a representative state legislature viewpoint on major governmental issues. During the coming year, the committee will be developing policy statements for Confer-ence consideration in the areas of commerce and transporta-tion, government operations, human resources, natural re-sources, public safety and urban affairs. Walker, Pleasant Grove, Utah, recently com-pleted an eight -- week wheel vehicle mechanic course at the U.S. Army Training Center, November 14 Last Chance for Deer Hunters in Utah November 14 is the last day for Utah hunters to bag deer unless they have certain con-trol permits. Part of the San Juan-El- k Ridge Unit 31B, and part of the Monroe Unit 48, remain open to hunters on the regular license through Sunday, Nov-ember 14. Hunters participating in these late hunts should check the deer proclamation carefully to determine the correct boundar-ies, and go prepared for bad weather. |
