Show THURSDAY, DECEMBER 2, 1971 PLEASANT GROVE REVIEW, PLEASANT GROVE, UTAH THURSDAY, DECEMBER 2, 1971 Price Lists Required by Business Retailers Says Revenue Service Retailers are required to prominently post base prices of goods offered for sale at their place of business by Jan. 1, 1972, according to Roland V. Wise, District Director of In-ternal Revenue Service. In making the new ruling public, Mr. Wise said that the regulation was decided by the President's Price Commission and announced in Washington, D.C. under the present period of economic control which be-gan Sunday, Nov. 14. Mr. Wise explained that re-tailers must display base pric-es on those 40 items in each department which have the highest sales volume or those items which account for 50 per cent of the total sales in each department, whichever is less. Further, Mr. Wise said, a re-tailer must display the base prices on all food products sold, except those exempt from price controls generally raw agri-cultural produats. No increase in prices are al-lowable, Mr. Wise emphasized until base prices have been posted. In other words, a re-tailer must post his base price lists prior to raising any prices within his store. Mr. Wise generally defined "base prices" as the ceiling price permitted for the period Aug. 15, 1971 and ending Nov. 13, 1971. Prior to Jan. 1, Mr. Wise explained further, if the price list is not posted then the store must provihe a sign on each floor announcing the availabil-ity of "ceiling price request forms" at a designated place on each floor. Under this sys-tem a customer wishing price information may fill out the form and leave it with the mer-chant who has 48 hours to ans-wer the request. More detailed information on this ruling can be obtained from your local office of Inter-nal Revenue Service. JR. Program for Utah In Hunter Safety Chosen by NRA Utah's hunter safety pro-gram was chosen as a national standard at a recent meeting of National Rifle Association leaders in Washington, D.C. The NRA Hunting and Con-servation Committee proposed an extensive revision of the NRA Hunter Safety Program, and recommended Utah's pro-gram for the national stand-ard. The recommendation re-ceived a unanimous vote from the 75 members of the NRA Board. Lee Robertson, Utah Wildlife Resources Training Officer, was pleased to hear of the NRA decision. Robertson developed the Utah Hunter Safety pro-gram over the past 15 years. He has trained nearly 8,000 lt instructors who, in turn, have trained and qualified ov-er 180,000 youth in the hunter safety and outdoor survival program. The present four hour NRA hunter safety course has long been considered inadequate by Utah and several other states. These states require ten hours of training for youth under 21 years of age seeking their first hunting license. Kerby Stock Is Selected for National Rodeo DENVER, Colo. The top cowboys will tangle with the best bucking stock in North America at the 13th annual Na-tional Finals Rodeo, the Rodeo Cowboys Association said. Prize money totaling $94,500 awaits the top 15 money-winner- s in each event at the "world series" of rodeo, sche-duled for Dec. 2 in Okla-homa City, Okla. But to win any money the cowboys must ride the "buckingest" horses and bulls to be found. For this year's Finals, 240 outstanding bareback broncs, saddle broncs and bulls have been selected from the bucking strings of 26 rodeo stock con-tractors throughout the United States and Canada. The stock is hand-picke- d by the Association's board of di-rectors on the basis of each animal's performance at some of the 538 Association-sanctione-d rodeos held during the year. Fans who attended the Pleas-ant Grove rodeo last June sav bucking stock owned by D. A. Kerby of Salt Lake City. Kerby had three saddle broncs, one bareback bronc and seven bulls selected for the finals. WW MINI MAC 6 Now only v&r swjjrc complete with 12" bar and chain Easy to use.
