Some of the top cowboys in professional ro-deo are expected to enter the Strawberry Days Rodeo in PI. Grove, the Rodeo Cowboys Association said in Denver this week. The rodeo, sanctioned by the Association, will feature com-petition in bareback, saddk bronc and bull riding, calf rop ing and steer wrestling. Perfor mances are set for Thursda through Saturday night, June 17-1- Among the top cowboys wht indicated early that they plar to enter the rodeo is Bill Nel son, San BYancisco, Calif. Nel son, who competes in saddh bronc, bull riding and calf rop ing, is in the lead for the 197: bull riding crown with $7,291 in winnings. He has won mon than $11,000 altogether this sea son. Other cowboys may come t Pleasant Grove from any par of the continent. They pay theij own travel expenses plus rodei entry fees, and receive onl what they are skilled enough ti win in the arena. A $2,600 purse has been pu up by the Pleasant Grovi Strawberry Days Rodeo Com mittee to be added to the cow boys' entry fees for the tota prize money. Last year at thi rodeo 131 contestants competei for more than $6,000. The livestock for the rode' will be provided again this yea by D. A. 'Swanny' Kerby o Salt Lake City, Utah. Dennis and Vera Tidwell to Celebrate Golden Wedding Anniversary June 13 A Golden Wedding Annivers-ary for Dennis and Vera Tid-well will be celebrated at their home on June 13. Their sons and daughter and their famil-ies are planning a dinner in honor of the occasion. Mr. and Mrs. Tidwell were married June 10, 1921 in Price, Utah, and their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti L.D.S. Temple. The Tidwells have three sons and three daughters, who are all helping in the anniversary party with their spouses. They are Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Tidwell, Mr. and Mrs. Derald Chesley, Mr. and Mrs. Dalton Weston, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Tidwell, Mr .and Mrs. Norman Tidwell, and Mr. and Mrs. Armand Pierucci.
