Show Garden Club Has First Meeting of Year on Monday The Pleasant Grove Garden Club had the first meeting of the year recently at the home of Mrs. Danny Smith. Mrs. Lucille Hillman, president, presi-dent, conducted matters of business. She said that the Garden Gar-den Club convention would be held in Salt Lake City on Jan. 23 and 24. Gov. Calvin Ramp-ton Ramp-ton will be one of the guest speakers. Committee chairmen of the Garden Club assigned for the 1970 year are as follows: Awards, Mrs. Kenneth Gil-man; Gil-man; Bake Sale, Mrs. Preston Shoell; Birds, Mrs. Ida Devey; Conservation, Mrs. Harry Mc-Cormick; Mc-Cormick; Flower Shows, Mrs. Alice Simper. Litter, Mrs. Gene Carter; Plant and Shrub Sale, Mrs. Ralph H. McCormick; Projects Mrs. Darrell Walker; Publicity Mrs. Earl Lowe; Social, Mrs. Benner Carling and Telephone Mrs. Lyle Stewart Mrs. Wallace Saing introduced introduc-ed the subject of "Birds" and told how they play an important import-ant part in our lives. Harold S. Walker, who has been a Boy Scout merit badge counselor coun-selor for many years, continued continu-ed the discussion and listed the birds that are becoming extinct ex-tinct in this area. He poised the question, "How are we going to get along without birds?" Refreshments were served by the hostess, Naon Smith, to Mr. and Mrs. Harold S.
