The Junior High Outlaw League has started to practice This a basketball league where 7th and 8th grade boys can make a team. The All-St- basketball game is coming up soon, with the 8th grade boys playing the fac-ulty. Gold Keys Meet at Johansson Home For Xmas Banquet The Gold Keys met at the lovely home of Glenda Johans-son for their Christmas ban-quet. The members were greet-ed with festive decorations and a holiday atmosphere. After the delicious meal all gathered around the fireplace to enjoy memories and hold a gift ex-change of many cleverly made and useful items. The evening was enjoyed by Loretta Carter, Lillian Wadley, Carol Adamson, Leone Rut-ledg- e, Barbara Lewis, Gayle Holdaway, and the hostess. Dale Atwood will be held Sun-day at 7 p.m. in the Stake Tabernacle. Sgt. Atwood was killed in action on the Western Front, European Theatre Garden Club Has First Meeting of Year on Monday The Pleasant Grove Garden Club had the first meeting of the year recently at the home of Mrs. Danny Smith. Mrs. Lucille Hillman, presi-dent, conducted matters of business. She said that the Gar-den Club convention would be held in Salt Lake City on Jan. 23 and 24. Gov. Calvin Ramp-to- n will be one of the guest speakers. Committee chairmen of the Garden Club assigned for the 1970 year are as follows: Awards, Mrs. Kenneth Gil-ma- n; Bake Sale, Mrs. Preston Shoell; Birds, Mrs. Ida Devey; Conservation, Mrs. Harry Flower Shows, Mrs. Alice Simper. Litter, Mrs. Gene Carter; Plant and Shrub Sale, Mrs. Ralph H. McCormick; Projects Mrs. Darrell Walker; Publicity Mrs. Earl Lowe; Social, Mrs. Benner Carling and Telephone Mrs. Lyle Stewart Mrs. Wallace Saing introduc-ed the subject of "Birds" and told how they play an import-ant part in our lives. Harold S. Walker, who has been a Boy Scout merit badge coun-selor for many years, continu-ed the discussion and listed the birds that are becoming ex-tinct in this area. He poised the question, "How are we going to get along without birds?" Refreshments were served by the hostess, Naon Smith, to Mr. and Mrs. Harold S. Walker and club members Lucille Hill-ma- n, Claudia Brown, Darlene Carter, Velma Gillman, Beth Gray, Lillian Huish, Sharon Newman, Jan Parry, Joyce Pitts, Verland Saling," Mary Shoell. Alice Simper, Joy Spain-howe- r, and Earlin Walker. AAUW Meeting Held Recently at Wagstaff Home The January meeting of the AAUW was held at the home of Mrs. Vera Wagstaff. A very interesting meeting was held with special guests Miss Sandra Cullimore and her mother, Mrs Cumorah Cullimore. Miss Culimore was recently voted as Utah's Outstanding Young Woman of the year, and was sponsored by the local unit of the AAUW. She discussed her career and told many worthwhile things about her chosen field in medical tech-nology. Mrs. Cullimore read a letter she had received about her daughter and her good work. Walter Reimschiissel was the guest speaker, and he gave a very interesting discussion on the problems and the future plans of Pleasant Grove. Miss Jennie Gleason played a piano solo. Mrs. Lawrence Crease gave a report of the women's legis-lative council meeting. It was also decided to con-tinue to display as many local artist's paintings as space can be provided. It is hoped that before too long a place can be found where these paintings can be displayed on a perman-ent basis. In the meantime, it is interesting to see these pic-tures that are on display in the Bank of Pleasant Grove, and other places of business. The following members were present: Mrs..
