Show Orem Drops Vikings Last Week, Play Two Games This Week by Jan Carter Viking Sportswriter The luckless P.G. Vikings lost last Friday to the Orem Tigers, 84-31 in the Orem gym. Height was the main factor as the Tigers completely dominated domin-ated the game. With Orem's 6 ft 9 in. center and going on down the line to a 6 ft. 3 in guard, Orem dominated dom-inated the boards all night and the Vikings got only one chance to shoot the ball each time down the court. The Viking shooters got off to a poor start in the first quarter quar-ter and never could put up an effective scoring threat. On the other hand, the Tiger shooting was very good, and with their rebounding strength, they almost al-most always got a chance for the two points. Orem's zone defense kept the Vikings outside and the P.G. boys were cold. No Viking got into double figures. High scorer was Parke Hansen, with seven points. Other Region Four scores for last Friday were: Provo 62, Springville 41; Lehi 48, Payson 45; Carbon 57, American Fork 49; and Spanish Fork bye. The Vikings played Payson Wednesday night, but results were not available at press time. However, this might be the one the Vikings could win. Friday night the Vikes play at Carbon. The Dinos are going go-ing strong this year, with a 4 and 1 record. The Vikes will have to have some luck to win against the Carbon team.
