Show Birthday Party for Pruie Coombs Held Saturday Mrs. Pruie Coombs was honored hon-ored in recognition of her 91st birthday by a group of neighbors neigh-bors and friends. The event was held at the home of Lela R. Banks, 142 South 200 East, Saturday afternoon, Feb. 7. Ice cream and cake were served and the honored guest was presented with a gift. The afternoon was spent in sociability socia-bility and reminescences of earlier ear-lier days. Those present were Dereatha Smith, Fern Laudie, May Jensen, Jen-sen, Sadie Chandler, Avis Smith, Oral Wright, Louise Heidenreich, Zola Blackhurst, Vida Adamson, Estelle Fenton and the hostess. Mrs. Coombs was born Feb. 8, 1879, a daughter of Joseph W. and Louisa Hawley Halli-day, Halli-day, pioneers of PI. Grove. She was the wife of the late John H. Coombs, prominent educator ed-ucator of Pleasant Grove and Salt Lake City. She has one son, Wendell H. Coombs of Los 6 Angeles, and 5 grandchildren. |
