Show Music Teachers Hold State Covention The annual convention of the Utah Music Teachers Association Associa-tion was held Monday, May 4 at the Hotel Utah and the Timpanogos Timp-anogos Chapter was well represented. rep-resented. Eight of the chapter members attended the all-day affair along with five guests and eight students of the chapter chap-ter president, Elaine Hadfield. Guest pianist-lecturer Thomas Thom-as Richner of Rutgers University, Univer-sity, is an outstanding organist organ-ist as well as one of the most accomplished pianists in the world. He appeared in two lecture lec-ture recitals during the day and an exciting evening concert. Dr. William Foxley, a faculty fac-ulty member at Brigham Young University is the new president, succeeding Mrs. Lucile B. Swenson. Members of the Timp Chapter Chap-ter attending were Elaine Hadfield, Had-field, Sharon de Paula, Myrna Olsen, Joana Major, Carla Eli-ason, Eli-ason, Lynette Morrill, Ruth Mitchell and Carol Peck. Students Stu-dents of Mrs. Hadfield attending attend-ing were Lorraine Adamson, Barbara Jensen, Christine Allen, Al-len, Julyn Rasmussen, Susan Brown, Christine Shelley, and Janet Thomas. Elaine Hadfield was elected as a board member of the coming com-ing year. She gave a brief report re-port of the Timpanogos Chapter Chap-ter accomplishments during the past year. Mrs. Ruth Mitchell, who has been a board member for the past year helped greet members at the door. |
