Wyler Black burn and MiKe Bond are planning for a big event for Bruce Bean Day Jan. 13 Benefit Basketball Game Slated for Bruce Bean in American Fork on January 13 A benefit basketball game for Bruce Bean of American Fork, will be sponsored by the Bantam Basketball play-ers at the American Fork High School boys gym on Jan. 13. Proceeds from the game will be used to defray medi-cal expenses for the plucky young Bruce, who is making an amazing recovery from a tragic motorcycle-ca- r acci-dent, which occurred last June. Bruce is now looking for-ward to returning to school In Austria Custom of writing letters to Santa Claus may have be-gun in Austria, where, long ago, it was an Advent tradi-tion for children to write let-ters containing lists of what they'd like to receive on St. Nicholas' Day. at American Fork High where he will complete his senior year. Tickets for the game will cost $1 for adults, with chil-dren under 12 admitted free if they are accompanied by their parents. The $1 will also entitle the purchaser to a chance on a colored televi-sion set which will be pre-sented to some lucky ticket holder at the game. Two games are scheduled on Bruce Bean night, begin-ning at 6: :30 and 8:30 p.m. Members of the Pep Club, the Letterman Club and the Bantam Basketball League are currently selling tickets to the Benefit Game. Assisting in the project are committee members Wyler Blackburn, Herschel Zunich and Merrill Preston. 'Cinderella' for Farmers Ins. Group Named Miss Connie M. Terry of Ogden has won the Utah State title and has been named "Cinderella of the Northern Mountain States" at the reg-ional level in the contest spon-sored by the Farmers Insur-ance Group to select a queen for its "Cinderella" float in the 1971 Pasadena, Calif., Tournament of Ro: 'S parade, on New Years' Da it is an-nounced by J. R. re-gional manager. Miss Terry is now entered in the national finals whose winner will receive an trip to Pasadena to ride the Farmers Insur-ance Group "Cinderella" float on New Years' Day and attend the Rose Bowl football game. The Northern Mountain States region includes Utah, Idaho and Montana. Miss Terry, 19, is a soph-omore at Weber State Coll-ege and plans a career as a nurse. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene F. Ter-ry and has two brothers and one sister. She is five feet, six inches tall, and has blond hair and blue eyes.
