Show Adult Education to Conduct Courses In Basic Subjects A program to assist adults of Alpine School District with the basic skills of reading, writing, and arithmetic will begin be-gin Tuesday, October 8, at 7 p.m. in room 22 of the Pleasant Grove Junior High School. Non-readers as well as those who need to improve their readng skills will profit from the instruction. There will be no cost for the classes since Federal funds have been made available for this project. Adults who need transportation transporta-tion from other communities in the district to Pleasant Grove should contact Ellen Brown, Director of Adult Education, for Alpine School District telephone tele-phone 756-3576 or 373-9666. The classes will be taught by Don Toland, Pearl Ault, and David Adamson. New and interesting in-teresting materials such as programmed materials, controlled con-trolled readers, reading laboratories, labor-atories, etc. will be used. This program of basic education edu-cation was initiated in the district dist-rict three years ago. Many of those adults who enrolled advanced two to three grade levels during the length of each year's course. |
