Show J. AlRZA ADA MS . Elected to fourth term J. Arza Adams Re-elected as IFA President J. Arza Adams, veteran poultry poul-try producer of Pleasant Grove was re-elected president of the Intermountain Farmers Association Asso-ciation last Friday. The event took place at the annual meeting meet-ing of the organization held at Ramada Inn in Salt Lake City. This will be the fourth presidential presi-dential term for Mr. Adams. In his official address before the delegates, John A. Rog-haar, Rog-haar, IFA general manager, said, "We see no reason why we should spend so much money mon-ey to bring in new industry and not spend some time, effort and money to preserve the greatest great-est and largest industry that the state of Utah has ever had, and one which it can continue to have with united effort. And the industry I mean is agriculture. agri-culture. Mr. Roghaar emphasized that the gross annual income from American farms showed a record rec-ord breaking rise of $1 billion dollars over a year ago. However How-ever rising costs of the things farmers were forced to buy more than swallowed the gain. Mr. Adams told the group that their 21 branches operated operat-ed at a profit during the past year, although the margin was close and the capital gains need to increase. One of the capital investments invest-ments made during the year was to stem the increasing number of Utah cattle being shipped out of state for finishing, finish-ing, Mr. Adams pointed out. Mr. Roghaar was retained as general manager, secretary and treasurer. Three new directors direc-tors were added to the board, Cecil Henke, Draper; Arvil Bird, Springville, and Robert S. Jensen, Salina. Mr. Adams stated that during dur-ing the past year a new feed lot has been constructed at Delta and a new $500,000 feed mill at Draper. "Even so there are still four fields where IFA efforts should be expanded, the production of more feed, farm supplies, fertilizers fer-tilizers and seed," Mr. Adams said. |
