Show Funeral Services For Ren Benson Held on Tuesday Funeral services for Randolph Ran-dolph A. (Ren) Benson, were held Tuesday, Sept. 10, 1968 at 12 noon in the LDS Third-Sixth Third-Sixth Ward Chapel, under the direction of Bishop Cloyd Christiansen Chris-tiansen of the Sixth Ward. Mr. Benson died Sept. 7 at the American Fork Hospital, following a heart attack. Speakers who told of the long and active life of the deceased were Dr. T. M. Thomson and Grant Fugal. Bishop Christiansen Christian-sen closed the services with appropriate remarks. Richard and Mary Deveraux sang a vocal duet, "That Silver Haired Daddy of Mine." Ida Mae Christiansen, Mary Nielsen Niel-sen and Alene Fugal sang "In the Garden" and Richard Deveraux Dev-eraux sang "You'll Never Walk Alone." The singers were accompanied accompan-ied by Ann McCausland and Mary Deveraux and Mrs. McCausland Mc-Causland played the prelude and postlude. Family prayer, the invocation invoca-tion and the benediction were offered by Kay Boley, C. A. ; Rasmussen and J. C. Hilton, i in that order. Pallbearers were George, James and Wayne Anderson, David and Douglas Benson and j Michael Dennis. Honorary pall bearers were Kay Boley, Gay-lyn Gay-lyn Anderson and Daniel and Brad Benson. Flowers were cared for and arranged by the Sixth Ward Relief Society. Burial was in Pleasant Grove City Cemetery, where Raymond Ray-mond Christensen dedicated the grave. Mr. Benson was born June 23, 1888, Pelican Point, Utah County, Coun-ty, to Agusta and Annie Jensen Benson. He married Bertha Ellen El-len Nielsen June 12, 1912, Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died April 23, 1963. He was a construction worker work-er and farmer. Survivors include sons and daughters, Clarence, Pleasant Grove; Reed, Ahwaz, Iran; Mrs. LaVone Anderson, Mrs. Bernell (Irene) Dennis, Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove; Mrs. Nels (Anna) Black, American Fork; 23 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; grand-children; sister, Mrs. Herbert (Nina) Grace, Isabella, Calif. |
