| Show noxious weed campaign gets under way here A new attack on the boxi noxious weeds in this locality is i being made this time it Is in the form of a W P A project under tinder which a crew of 0 men are employed to gaon go onto private property with the consent and cooperation of 0 the property owner and dig up and destroy the weeds the plan calls tor for the property owner to plow the th infested areas the first ra time me an and then en the e workers without expense to the owner 5 llego onto on t ta the property every ten or fifteen days and des dea bior any weeds which are in evidence picking out the roots and burning them mr edward H parry of cedar city Is in charge of the project in the county and jasper stubbs is is in charge of 0 the work in this end of the county under mr air perry mr stubbs la Is paid by the county for his services cervices Eer vices while the workers aie paid from W P A funds about eight or ten men and one team are emaI oyed in this end of the county and at present they are directing their energies against the wild morning glory and white top later in the season they will work en burrs with proper cooperation from property owners the project should do much toward the noxious weeds from this locality some idea of the work they are do ing in may be had from the net fact that on one tract of less than an acre they spent about three days digging morning glory roots and they estimated that they gathered up ill and burned about five tun of roots roon |
