Show 1 OTHER PEOPLE GROWING strawberries since our publishing last week in the editorial column our story ot ol the fine gardens and our making mention of the strawberry patch at the dan crawford home our city treasurer and mrs john W bentley reminds us that they are also growing their own strawberries and to prove it they brought a heaping bs basket of fine berries wednesday morning that had just been dAnd they were just as good as any wo we have imported and much fresher mr bentley says that off a small patch they have picked eight crates so far this spring and that they bottled 90 pints off the patch last year he states that they have to be cared for carefully and changed to new ground every 2 or 3 years but then about everk everything thing we grow takes lots of care if it produces mr bentley also brought us a basket of cherries grown on his lot in town and he say that in addition to these ho he has both summer aidwin ter apples three bartlett pear trees now bearing and raspberries rasp berries goose berries and currants to take care of all the fam ilys fruit needs both for immediate use and for canning it is is just an example of what we can do here if we try |
