Show aged summit resident dies quietly at home william smith 91 years old and much respected resident of summit passed away at his home there on thursday evenia of last week from a heart attack just after finishing his evening chores coming into the house he laid his hat and coat off and was gone in a few minutes funeral services were held for him in the summit ward chapel under the direction of bishop farrow on monday afternoon of this week speakers were wm U thornton of parowan carowan Pa rowan oscar J hulet joseph B and charles R dalley dailey of summit the opening and closing songs were sung by the ward choir with a ladies duet number by mrs vern dalley dailey and mrs boyd walker clair hulet of parowan carowan offered the opening prayer john P dalley dailey offered the closing one and the decease ds half brother benjamin smith offered the dedicatory prayer at the cemetery he was born in england on mar alar 16 1854 and came to this country when a very young man he married barbara hulet in 1879 and moved to summit where he has since resided being a prominent farmer and cattle raiser of that community he is survived by four sons lorin and dell smith of parowan carowan and harold and clarence of summit 2 daughters luella adair of pioche nevada and kate jones of enterprise he is also survived by two half brothers man smith of murray and benjamin smith of st george as well as twenty three grandchildren |
