Show CLEANUP CLEAN UP CHAIRMAN ASKS FOR CITIZENS cooperation by marlo mario chairman of the parowan carowan city cleanup clean up and beautification committee this week we are sponsoring a cleanup clean up in which we hope everyone takes an active part we feel there is a need for Us as citizens of parowan carowan Pa rowan to make an effort to make anak e parowan carowan a better and more beautiful town in which to live after all parowan carowan is our home and will be for over 90 per cent ceni of us the test rest of our lives why we make our home the most beautiful and attractive place on earth with the efforts of all we can soon make this town look like new if each one of us will just start now and do a little each day or in our oui spare time we dont need much money to get started just a little work and planning after you get your lot raked and cleaned up look I 1 it over what about your old fence would the place look better if it was removed or replaced with a new one how would a coat of paint look it hurt to give the house a fresh coat of paint now lets fix up the front yard to match and after this it take long to fix up the back yard and give the corral the once over all ready the mayor and city council are arranging to get s some ome gravel crushed so the streets and I 1 sidewalks can be repaired then they will be ready for oiling after the war they are also replacing and planting more trees as soon as they can be obtained folks we have only got until 1947 to get our town in shape for the centennial lets get busy and do justice to parowan carowan Pa rowan we are the oldest town in southern utah ashes 94 this Y year ear le each and everyone of us do our part to make her look like new after all if we dont who will she belongs to us lets fix her up so everyone else will know she does when everyone works and no one shirks you can raise a town from the dead R W glover had this in mind when he wrote the poem it the town its you if you want to live in the kind of a town the kind of a town you like you slop your clothes in a grip and start on a long long hike find elsewhere what you left behind for theirs nothing really new its a knock at yourself when you knock your town it your town its you real towns are not made by men afraid lest somebody else gets ahead when everybody works and nobody shirks you can raise a town from the dead and if while you make your stake your neighbor can make one too your town will be what you want to see Is your town its you |
