Show COUNTY FARMERS RECEIVE 1941 WHEAT allotments wheat acreage allotments for individual farms of iron county have been determined and were mailed to farmers of the county august 17 1940 according to thu the county AAA committee these allotments represent me ine in farmers share of the national state and county allotment J M palmer chairman of the committee said he explained that the national allotment is set up on the basis of the needs of the nation the rhe normal consumption carryover export and feed and seed needs of the nation are taken into consideration then the acreage needed to grow that amount of wheat is determined upon the basis of the average yield of the coun 1 try this allotment is then broken down for the states which in turn set the county alloi meins ana from the county allotments the individual farm allotments are determined farmers who do not feel that their 1941 wheat acreage allotment is a fair share of the th national state stale or county allotment have 15 lays cays in which to request changes in their allotments requests should be in writing and should state reasons why they believe the allotment sent them is not their fair share letters should be addressed to the county AAA committee new wheat farmers those who have not grown wheat in 1938 1939 ol 01 or 1940 but who expect to do so in 1941 should apply in writing I 1 for an allotment before the end of the appeal period which is august 31 1940 if they expect to earn payments under the 1941 AAA program this also applies to farmers who have never signed a worksheet or who have not been in the program farmers or iron county who receive allotments for 1941 and plant within these allotments will be eligible for wheat conservation payments price adjustment payments crop insurance and wheat loans if they are offered in 1941 mrs palmer said sad |
