Show club suggests race meet improvements the time at the parowan carowan exchange clubs noon luncheon on monday of this week was mostly taken up with a discussion of the race meet that was held here two weeks ago suggestions were made by harrell dalton who was general chairman of the meet and R L fenton for improvements that could collid and should be made in such e ap undertaking taking and the benefits that would be derived from such improvements when the meet is held next year this was the first meeting of the club since the meet and the thought was voiced that while the matter was fresh on the minds of the people that some good could be accomplished complis hed by a a general discussion of it by the towns only civic club ray D garner was as appointed as chairman n of a membership committee with walter C mitchell and A noble kimball aj as his helpers as a means of increasing the clubs membership harrell dalton and ray adams were appointed as a committee of two to meet m beet with the city council at its next meeting and ask them to em employ ploy a man to look after the equipment quip ment at the race barck which includes the starting gate and other incidentals this was deemed advisable from the standpoint of eliminating difficulties in rounding up equipment when time for next I 1 years meet comes and lor for the protection I 1 of the equipment much di is encountered each year I 1 and some equipment is lost by not having it all collected in one place I 1 this is not only inconvenient but bin it takes time and money to re replace these hese things they were also in j to urge the city to have a coat oai j paint apIl to the new 1 icings at the 11 af |
