Show INFLUENZA EPIDEMIC DECLINES IN STATE the T he weekly communicable disease report released today by the division of for the week ending january 5 1940 shows a total of casts cases as compared with 1252 cases last week and cases for the corresponding week in 1939 A marked decrease is noted in the number of cases of influenza reported this week over last week cases being reported this week and last week last year for the corresponding week only 7 cases of influenza were reported nineteen cases of were reported as compared with wih 36 for the same week in 1939 an increase is noted in the num ber of cases of measles 96 this week 63 last week and only 16 cases for the corresponding week last year there was also an increase reported in the number of cases of whooping whooping cough 52 this week and 12 for the corresponding week in 1939 one case of tularemia from uintah county was reported and one case of streptococcus meningitis from price city an encouraging feature of the report is that there were no cases of diphtheria smallpox nor ty fever reported for this week the following counties reported no diseases daggett morgan and plute |
